Under
the direction of Isitolo and Evelyn Oloa, Kalena's Polynesian
Entertainment was established to help share and preserve
the beauty of Polynesia through its songs and dances. The
members of the group enjoy the culture of Polynesia and
are eager to share with all audiences around the world,
the beauty of Polynesia.
Services
Available:
The group provides Polynesian entertainment for Conventions,
Luau's, Weddings, Special Events, and Private Parties. The
repertoire of the group includes songs and dances from Tahiti,
Hawaii, New Zealand, and Samoa. The content and length of
our shows can be customized to meet the needs of your organization.

History:
The group originated in Waialua, Hawaii in 1986. Entertaining
for many occasions, the group participated in various Christmas
craft fairs, The Fourth of July celebrations, and local
church bazaars. The dancers were also known as the World
Pacific Dancers in the 1988 "Wave of the Future"
World Pacific Wrestling Show.
In
1989, Isitolo and Evelyn Oloa moved to Pittsburgh, PA to
become choreographers and cast members of "Hawaii
in Pittsburgh" located in Pittsburgh, PA. The show
brought in thousands of people from the eastern United States
as well as Canada, bringing memories of the Polynesian islands
to many. In 1996, the home base for "Hawaii in Pittsburgh"
was sold and the cast members continued entertaining for
river boat shows, dinner theatres and private parties.
In
1998, Isitolo and Evelyn Oloa moved to Orlando, FL. With
a whole new group, they continued what they had started
in Hawaii--bringing the Beauty of Polynesiato you.
Kalena's
has performed for many community functions, such as the
American Cancer Society-Relay for Life, East Orange Community
Health Fair and Breast Cancer-Awareness Events. In October
of 2002, we were the highlight of a luau given by the Southwest
Airlines- Orlando station. We have entertained for various
local church functions as well as many private parties. |
